CIOE 2013 Achieve New Height in Many Aspects.  Many New Technologies and Innovations Appear On-site for First Time. Various Concurrent Activities Attract Thousands of Attentions.

Shenzhen, China, September 17, 2013- The 15th China International Optoelectronic Exposition closed with full success on September 7. More than 3,200 Exhibitors and 70,000 visitors attended this event.

The exhibition space of CIOE 2013 is enlarged again with an increase of 10% compared with last year.  Its 15 consecutive years of growth of exhibition space proves again that CIOE is the world’s largest optoelectronic event. Four specialized sub-expos displayed a complete optoelectronic industry chain, mainly focusing on optical communications, lasers, infrared applications, precision optics, machine vision, LED lighting & display, LED equipments & applications.

More than 3,200 exhibitors participated in CIOE 2013. Many exhibitors displayed their latest products and technologies. Such as, Fiberhome exhibited their new optical cable products, Accelink displayed AOC and new 100G products, FLIR System brought their infrared thermal imager- Quarks, Olympus showcased their new measuring microscopes , Absen & Unilumin displayed latest large-size HD-display.

More country pavilions took part in CIOE 2013. Besides German, Danish, Canadian pavilions, UK Pavilion joined CIOE for the first time. And North Carolina Department of Commerce also organized a small group to exhibit at CIOE 2013.

The 4-day event attracted 70,205 visitors in total, including 53,303 Chinese visitors and 16,902 oversea visitors from 71 countries and regions. The event was also attended by 200+ delegations from leading companies and research centers such as China Telecom, ZTE, HUAWEI, Finisar, Foxconn, Konka, TCL, Osram, Oclaro, Sanmina, BYD, OPPO, Han’s Laser, Sony (China), Canon (China), Optical Memory National Research Center (OMNRC), etc.

In addition to the exhibition, a 4-day technical conference –China International Optoelectronic Conference (CIOEC) was also held concurrently.  Hot topics in the field of mobile internet, internet of things, fibers sensors & lasers, new generation OTN, micro-nano manufacturing, modern precision engineering, and OLED technology evoke great repercussions among the industry. More than 160 speakers and 2,500 professionals attended the conference.

Besides that, several On-site Activities were held and attracted thousands of attentions. According to visitors’ questionnaire, New Product and Technology Presentation and Face to Face Sourcing Meeting turn out to be the most popular on-site activities. During 4 days, 45 companies chose this platform to release their new products and technologies which attracted thousands of visitors stop by. About 285 face to face meetings were arranged on site. Both the buyers and exhibitors are quite satisfied with this event. Central Purchasing Department of Foxconn, Mr. Wen said “Good event, well-organized! This event really brings a lot of convenience to the buyers. We find some potential suppliers after the meeting. One of them is under the audit to become our AVL. Really appreciate the organizer’s hard work”

On the evening of September 4, CIOE held the 15th Anniversary Welcome Banquet to express its great appreciations of the support from the industry professionals and government bodies in the past 15 years. The “Distinguished Contribution Awards” were also presented to 90 key industry players to honor their excellent contribution to the rapid development of optoelectronic industry.

Vice Executive Chairman and Secretary General, Mr. Yang Xiancheng said “In the past 15 years, CIOE together with China’s optoelectronic industry has developed from modest beginning into the major world player. As the first optoelectronic show in China, CIOE will continue to contribute to the development of world’s optoelectronic industry and provide best support to global optoelectronics buyers and suppliers.”
