The Organizing Committee of China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE) held a warm-up “CIOE 2011 Press Conference” in the Garden Hotel (Guangzhou) on the afternoon of August 2, 2011 (14:30 PM-16:30 PM). The press conference turns out to be a full success. More than 40 journalist and reporters from 20 professional medias were present at the conference. 8 representatives from 6 country consulates attended the conference.
During the conference, the representatives from CIOE gave a full introduction on the present status and preparation work of CIOE 2011 from various aspects. The 13th CIOE will be held at Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center (SZCEC) on Sep 6 to 9, 2011. According to the introduction from Prof. Yang Xiancheng, Secretary General of CIOE: “All the booths of the three concurrent sub-expositions (Optical Communications, Lasers and Infrared Applications Expo, LED Expo and Precision Optics Expo) of CIOE 2011 have been booked out by the end of July. The total exhibiting area in CIOE 2011 reaches 100,000 sqm increasing by 20% compared to that of last year. More than 2,300 companies from all over the world will exhibit their products and technologies including 20% overseas exhibitors from 27 countries.
According to the data issued by the Photonics Industry & Technology Development Association (PIDA), the world optoelectronic industry is recovering at a fast speed from the trough, which had been caused by the Global Financial Crisis of 2008. The total market size of the world optoelectronic industry reached four hundred billions USD in 2010 increasing by 30% compared to the size of 2009. In 2011, the world optoelectronic industry is developing at an unexpected fast speed. China has grown to be one of the most important optoelectronic manufacturing countries in the world.
With this background and the growing numbers of CIOE 2011, Prof, Yang Xiancheng concluded the increased number of CIOE international brand exhibitors , which proved that more and moare oversea enterprises value the Chinese optoelectrnic market.
According to the news released in the conference, the Chinese Optical Society Annual Conference 2011 will be held in Shenzhen for the first time and collocated with the 13th CIOE. Moreover, a series of top conferences in Optical Communications and LED will be held concurrently with the 13th CIOE, such as China Optical Communication Technology and Development Forum 2011 and LED Lighting Technology and Development Forum 2010.
